POP Displays - What are they?
Why are they important?
POP Displays
are located alongside checkout lines at your local grocers as well
as on the final web pages of an online purchase. POP stands for
Point-of-Purchase and refers to the broad category of advertisements
and cross selling encountered during the purchase process. POP Displays
are not to be confused with POP UP displays that are commonly used
at tradeshows as solid background for posting or projecting product
information and details.
Radiant Products is
proud to provide both stock and custom POP Display configurations
for its customers. Displays come in the form of signs, racks, and
shelves. Occasionally POP displays are even digital screens mounted
with steel brackets on retail walls. If you can imagine it, Radiant
Products can deliver it custom.
In store advertising has been shown to have great influence on
the buying decisions of consumers. Surely impulse buying is greatly
affected by coupons popping out of ad displays. But what in store
advertising for priced durable goods for which we expect consumers
to research more thoroughly? POP advertising may not influence consumers
to buy a Sony Playstation when checking out at their favorite electronics
store, but they may be convinced to buy a new wireless controller
accessory. This simple example illustrates what is known as cross-selling
- encouraging customers to pick up additional items that are complimentary
to the ones they are already purchasing. A display in this scenario
can be as simple as POP
display wall perimeter unit along the sides of the checkout
line.
Clothing stores often make their POP
displays as simple as a mobile folding table with clearance
items scattered about for consumers to rummage through.
POP Displays advertising research
is conducted by the Point-of-Purchase Advertising International
Group. Their research on POP displays and advertisements are made
available along with the opportunity to pay for things like live
broad casts with POP experts from around the world.
